What is GST Registration?
GST (Goods and Services Tax) registration is mandatory for businesses whose turnover crosses the prescribed threshold, or that supply goods/services inter-state, sell on e-commerce platforms, or are otherwise notified under the CGST Act, 2017. Once registered, you receive a 15-digit GSTIN used on every invoice you raise.
Who needs to register?
Registration is compulsory once aggregate turnover exceeds ₹40 lakh for goods (₹20 lakh in special category states) or ₹20 lakh for services. It is also compulsory regardless of turnover for inter-state suppliers, e-commerce sellers, casual taxable persons and businesses required to deduct TDS/TCS under GST.
Why is GST Registration Important for Your Business?
